Marston Marsh

By Does Your Duck Quack · Reviewed 20 October 2026

Eaton, Norwich

Marston Marsh follows the River Yare on Norwich’s southern outskirts, combining grazing marsh, dykes, ponds, wet woodland and scattered willows. Kingfisher, Cetti’s Warbler, Cuckoo and woodpeckers are documented in Natural England’s reserve account. The public path lets you sample river and marsh habitats without planning a long coastal journey. Spring is typically rewarding for song, while the council records winter geese and occasional Snipe. The Marston–Eaton link path also offers a way to extend the visit towards Eaton Common.
