Conifers sit beside broadleaved trees and veteran oaks, giving an enjoyable setting for listening to woodland birds. The local bird club records Coal Tit, Goldcrest, Nuthatch and summer warblers here. Well-made tracks and a marked route let you build a short walk around the woods and pond, with benches along the way. This is a useful sheltered alternative when the nearby coast is windy.
