Crostwight Heath public paths

By Does Your Duck Quack · Reviewed 20 October 2026

South of Ridlington

Crostwight Heath has birch and oak around a central heathland area, crossed by public footpaths. The county guide describes a varied woodland bird community, including Treecreeper, and its combined Ridlington and northern heath recording area includes tits, Goldcrest and Jay. Choose it for a quieter walk through heath and woodland rather than a coastal seawatch. The club recording boundary covers only the northern part of the heath, but that administrative boundary does not define public access. This entry is limited to established public routes; surrounding land and buildings are not open by implication.

Birds and seasons

  • Treecreeper — Typically year-round
  • Blue Tit — Typically year-round
  • Great Tit — Typically year-round
  • Jay — Typically year-round
