Abbey Farm bird hide

Abbey Farm's public bird hide offers a short, sheltered visit beside a working farm at Flitcham. It overlooks wetland, pasture, scrub and the surrounding arable landscape. NarVOS lists Gadwall, Shelduck, Lapwing, Tree Sparrow and Buzzard among the birds associated with the site. Water levels vary because some of the wetlands are spring-fed and can dry during autumn. The hide is free to visit and close to its small car park, making it a practical stop for someone exploring inland west Norfolk. Access is to the permitted watching area, rather than unrestricted entry across the private farm.
