Rockland Marshes

Rockland St Mary · NR14 7HP

Rockland Marshes gives a compact Broadland outing beside Rockland Broad and the River Yare. Reedbeds, wet grassland, wet woodland and small pools sit close together, so a slow walk can combine open-water watching with birds moving through the margins. Great Crested Grebes and Kingfishers are the main spring and summer attractions identified by the RSPB, while Barn Owl adds an occasional grassland interest. The riverside outlook makes this a useful quieter companion to a longer visit at Strumpshaw Fen. Stay on the public route and use the open views; the former hide is closed.

Birds and seasons
