Hesketh Out Marsh offers an expansive view of restored saltmarsh on the Ribble Estuary. Former farmland has been returned to tidal water, creating creeks and lagoons used by ducks, geese and waders. Pink-footed Geese and Wigeon draw attention in the colder months, while Redshank and Lapwing give a useful introduction to the marsh’s birdlife. A short surfaced approach reaches Karen’s Viewpoint, making a focused watch possible without committing to the longer seawall paths. The open setting rewards binoculars and a patient scan across the water and vegetation, with changing tides altering the scene.
