Wyken Slough combines the open water of Wyken Pool with marsh at its northern end, including a small area managed by the Wildlife Trust. The pool and marsh provide complementary wetland views within the same reserve visit. The Trust identifies winter Snipe and Reed Bunting, while a resident Mute Swan flock gives the open water a different focus. Begin from the council car park and use the established routes around the wetland. Although parts are relatively flat, the Trust confirms wheelchair access to only part of the site, so route choice matters.
