Egerton Close approach, Newbold-on-Avon, Rugby
Newbold Quarry is a former blue-lias working where spring water filled the excavated basin and created a small lake. The Trust names Tufted Duck, Pochard and Little Grebe as winter visitors, giving the lakeside circuit a clear birding purpose. Start from the documented Egerton Close arrival and use the established paths to look over the water and vegetated margins. Some parts are accessible, while other routes climb steps or steep slopes for a higher view. Keep the visit to the public lake-and-woodland circuit; fishing is not permitted on the reserve.
