West Raynham Lake — public roadside view

By Does Your Duck Quack · Reviewed 20 October 2026

West Raynham

West Raynham Lake can be watched from the public roadside near St Margaret’s Church, with views across the southern end of the water and adjoining parkland. The lake and its shores are private, so this is a short public-viewpoint stop rather than a reserve walk. Pink-footed Goose is a winter attraction on nearby grazing land; county bird reports also record Greylag Goose and wintering Fieldfare in the lake and hall landscape. Mature trees, scrub and reedbeds create a varied setting. Stay outside the cattle grid and keep the road, gateways and farm access clear.

Birds and seasons

  • Pink-footed Goose — Typically autumn and winter
  • Greylag Goose — Typically year-round
