Sheringham Cemetery

Sheringham

Sheringham Cemetery provides a quiet inland birding stop at the western end of town, with established trees and shrubs offering cover close to the coast. The club highlights autumn migrants in the tree-lined approach and finch flocks on the former allotment ground. Green Woodpecker is a regular visitor, while Redwing and Fieldfare add seasonal interest; Lesser Whitethroat is recorded in the warmer months. A restrained walk can complement time on the nearby coast. This remains a working cemetery: give mourners and other visitors space, keep noise low and allow services complete priority.

Birds and seasons

  • Green Woodpecker — Typically all year
  • Redwing — September–April in club records
  • Fieldfare — September–March in club records
  • Lesser Whitethroat — April–October in club records
