Sheringham Cliffs coast path

By Does Your Duck Quack · Reviewed 20 October 2026

West of Sheringham

Sheringham’s western coast path offers open cliff and sea views with birds moving between rough coastal vegetation and the adjoining fields. Meadow Pipit and Stonechat provide local interest, with Wheatear and Sand Martin among the birds recorded during migration and summer. This is a public-path watching stop: the neighbouring golf course has no general public access. A telescope is useful for distant scanning, while binoculars suit birds close to the trail. Pick a weather window that makes the exposed coast comfortable for walking.

Birds and seasons

  • Meadow Pipit — Typically year-round
  • Stonechat — Typically year-round
  • Wheatear — Typically March to October
  • Sand Martin — Typically March to August
