Low Common Road, South Lopham; reserve spans Norfolk and Suffolk · IP22 2HX

Redgrave and Lopham Fen is a broad valley wetland at the headwaters of the River Waveney, shared by Norfolk and Suffolk. Its open fen is mixed with grassland, woodland and heath, giving a visiting birder several habitats to explore from one arrival point. The operator highlights summer Hobbies catching dragonflies over the pools and Barn Owls, with Starlings adding winter interest. Marked trails offer different walk lengths through the landscape. The reserve is also known for its unusual fen plants and fen raft spiders, making a slower visit rewarding even when bird activity is quiet. March to September is the operator’s recommended overall visiting season.
