Nar Valley Fisheries — public-path view

By Does Your Duck Quack · Reviewed 20 October 2026

Pentney

Former gravel workings beside the River Nar have become a group of privately owned fishing lakes. Birdwatching for visitors without a permit is restricted to the view from the Nar Valley Way public path. NarVOS lists winter wildfowl including Goldeneye and Goosander, while spring and summer bring Hobby, Cuckoo and warblers. The approach is almost a mile on foot from its suggested parking place. This is an opportunity to look across open water from a public route, with the lake shores remaining private.
