Powys offers woodland at Lake Vyrnwy and Carngafallt, Red Kite watching at Gigrin Farm, and wetland birds at Cors Dyfi and Cors y Llyn. Lake Vyrnwy combines oak and birch woodland with reservoir, moorland and hay meadow, with spring woodland birds a particular focus. Carngafallt gives a different woodland walk through sessile oak and lichen-rich Celtic rainforest, with Pied Flycatcher, Redstart and Wood Warbler among its spring migrants. Gigrin Farm is the separate managed-feeding visit for Red Kites, with farmland and woodland edge around the feeding field. Cors Dyfi joins reedbeds, bog, wet woodland and scrub, with its Osprey season and winter wetland visits providing distinct reasons to go. Cors y Llyn adds a compact circuit through flower meadow and wet woodland beside waterlogged peat. Pied Flycatcher, Redstart and Wood Warbler are named summer visitors there, with Woodcock and Snipe in winter. The contrast between these destinations is the useful starting point: forest reservoir, oakwood, feeding centre and bog-boardwalk visits have different public routes and seasons.
