Pwll Penarth is a small freshwater bird reserve developed beside a former sewage-farm site near Newtown. Shallow edges, deeper pools and islands provide contrasting feeding and resting water, watched from the remaining ground-level hide. Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust names Kingfisher, Little Grebe and Reed Bunting for this exact reserve, though its species list does not state their individual seasons. The former tower hide has been removed after vandalism made it unsafe; it should not be included in a visit plan. A short approach along the access track and canal towpath links the car park with the reserve entrance.
