Garston Wood is an ancient woodland near Sixpenny Handley, with coppiced Hazel, mature trees and a network of natural paths. The RSPB names Blackcap, Marsh Tit and Nightingale among its birds. Spring brings Bluebells, Wood Anemones and Primroses, while autumn offers foliage colour and fungi. The combination suits a slow listening walk, with time to pause at the resting benches and watch the edges of clearings. Routes of different lengths leave the small visitor car park, allowing either a short stop or a longer circuit through the wood.
