Near Semley, Wiltshire

Oysters Coppice occupies a wooded slope above the Vale of Wardour near Semley. The Trust names marsh tit, song thrush and tawny owl among the birds using its varied trees. Oak grows on drier ground, with ash and alder in the wetter areas created by springs. A circular route visits the woodland and pond, with public footpaths continuing into neighbouring Gutch Common. The damp ground and slopes give the visit its character but prevent an easy wheelchair circuit. Use the Trust’s verge-parking approach at Gutch Common or its published bus-and-lane walk, then follow the public woodland route.
