Flatford Wildlife Garden

Flatford Wildlife Garden is a small planted space for watching everyday wildlife and discovering ideas for a more nature-friendly garden. Meadow planting, seedheads, trees and a pond provide varied interest in a compact area. The operator describes Swallows gathering over the garden in late summer, while the RSPB's species guides list Flatford as a place to see Goldfinch and Long-tailed Tit. It fits well into a wider visit to the historic hamlet or a riverside walk. Different levels and steps mean that the main accessible route does not reach every corner.

Birds and seasons

  • Swallow — Typically late spring to early autumn
  • Goldfinch — Typically year-round
  • Long-tailed Tit — Typically year-round
