Stiffkey Marshes

By Does Your Duck Quack · Reviewed 20 October 2026

Stiffkey · NR23 1QE

Stiffkey Marshes gives a wide saltmarsh outlook from the Norfolk Coast Path between Wells and Blakeney. Tidal creeks and low vegetation attract egrets, waders and winter geese, while the changing light makes a patient scan worthwhile even on a short visit. Redshank, Little Egret and Brent Goose feature in the National Trust’s wildlife account. Use the established path for viewing and keep clear of feeding and resting birds; the marsh beyond is a tidal landscape, not a shortcut to the sea.

Birds and seasons

  • Little Egret — Typically year-round
  • Redshank — Typically year-round
  • Brent Goose — Autumn and winter
  • Spoonbill — Typically spring to autumn
