Holt, reached through Holt Country Park · NR25 6SP

Holt Lowes is a heathland and woodland reserve reached on foot through Holt Country Park. Its mixture of wet ground, gorse and open heath rewards a slow walk, with Woodlark associated with spring and Nightjar with summer. NWT also describes winter flocks of Linnet among the gorse. The reserve is especially rich in unusual plants and invertebrates, giving a visitor other wildlife to enjoy between bird sightings. Public tracks provide the route through the landscape; the parking belongs to the country park rather than NWT. This makes a useful habitat contrast to a coastal day around Cley, without needing a long inland journey.
