Lower Southrepps, near Gunton station · NR11 8UL

Southrepps Common is a group of five nearby commons with fen, reeds, woodland and grassland linked by public paths and boardwalks. It is a useful choice for visitors near Cromer who want a wetland walk within reach of a railway station. NWT highlights spring warbler song, including Garden Warbler, while the North East Norfolk Bird Club’s site list shows recurring Robin, Wren, Great Tit and Chiffchaff observations. The boardwalk crosses tall reeds and bridges give different views through the site’s small-scale habitats. Birdwatching can be combined with a gentle walk, taking care around wet areas and keeping dogs on leads beside the path.
