Chelmondiston, River Orwell · IP9 1JJ

Pin Mill combines River Orwell watching with a woodland and heathland circuit above the shore. The National Trust's nature walk names Buzzard overhead, Curlew calling from the river and Nightingale in spring scrub. Follow the published two-mile circuit to keep the bird records tied to the actual route. This is a walking stop with estuary views rather than a hide-based reserve. Tides matter at the waterfront: when water covers the route in front of the pub, use the operator's higher alternative instead. Allow time for the sloping ground as well as pauses to scan the water.
