Cuttle Pool Lane, Temple Balsall, Solihull

Cuttle Pool is a small reserve on former gravel and sand workings near Temple Balsall. Its pool, scrub, grassland and woodland give several habitats to check within one compact stop. The Wildlife Trust names Raven, Nuthatch and Great Spotted Woodpecker among its birds, alongside a wider list of woodland and summer visitors. Start from the pedestrian entrance on Cuttle Pool Lane and follow the informal paths through the reserve. The very small parking provision makes this a modest local birdwatching stop rather than a destination for a large group.
