Oronsay is a tidal island reserve farmed by the RSPB in agreement with its owners. Grazed grassland and coastal habitats support Chough and Corncrake, while the Argyll Bird Club's site guide also lists Oystercatcher, Linnet and other island birds. Public access follows the main track towards the priory, with working-farm restrictions possible during livestock and nesting seasons. This is a visit requiring careful tide planning from Colonsay, sufficient supplies and attention to local advice about the crossing.
