Mawddach Valley - Arthog Bog

By Does Your Duck Quack · Reviewed 20 October 2026

Arthog · LL39 1BQ

Arthog Bog provides a compact wetland walk close to Morfa Mawddach station. Alder and willow woodland fringe the mire, creating habitat for Siskin, Long-tailed Tit, Willow Warbler and Bullfinch. Flowering plants, dragonflies and Grass Snake add interest alongside the birdwatching, particularly in spring and summer. The reserve trail links with the Mawddach Trail, making it an easy place to combine woodland listening with a longer estuary outing. Ponies graze the site, and some surfaces are rough underfoot.
