Lowick Lane, Aldwincle · NN14 3EE
Titchmarsh offers a wetland outing around Aldwincle Lake and the smaller Heronry Lake in the Nene Valley. The Trust identifies winter Goosander, Wigeon and Gadwall, while Grey Herons begin their noisy breeding activity in February. Grassland, scrub and riverside vegetation add listening opportunities beyond the open water. Use the public and reserve paths to choose a manageable route, allowing for muddy or flooded ground. A hard track reaches one hide, but the operator does not describe the whole reserve as wheelchair suitable. The car-park approach is from Aldwincle.
