Sulehay Road, west of Yarwell
Old Sulehay combines a surviving part of Rockingham Forest with grassland and scrub shaped by former quarrying. Follow the main woodland ride for a focused listening walk: the Trust names Great Spotted Woodpecker, Nuthatch and Treecreeper in the reserve’s woodland account. Wider paths continue to old railway beds, limestone workings and grazed grassland, linking several different habitats within the same reserve visit. The main woodland ride is surfaced, but other paths become muddy and quarry sections can be steep and uneven. Use the limited roadside laybys considerately or arrive by a public right of way from a neighbouring village.
