Oxwich Bay, south Gower
Oxwich offers a wetland birding visit behind the busy Gower beach. Natural Resources Wales identifies the lakes and marsh as a haven for birds, with Water Rail, Little Grebe and Moorhen among those to look for from the Whitestones hide. A boardwalk reaches that hide across the freshwater marsh and reedbeds. The wider reserve also includes dunes and woodland, so choose the birding route before starting rather than treating the whole beach as a viewpoint. Bird seasons are not individually specified for these three species in the official account, and sightings remain dependent on conditions.
