Narborough
Narborough Bog is an old fen reserve between the River Soar and the M1, with meadow, reedbed and woodland surviving close to Leicester. The Trust names Kingfisher, Tawny Owl and Sparrowhawk among its birds. Public access remains available on the reserve’s open paths, but the wet-woodland paths have been closed since 2017 because collapsing willows are being left in place as part of natural flood management. A visit must therefore follow the current route signs rather than assume a complete woodland circuit. Entry is from the recreation ground beside the sports club.
