Syston Road, Cossington · LE7 4UZ
Cossington Meadows brings together lakes, shallow pools and grazing meadows beside the River Soar. Winter is the Trust’s recommended season, when Wigeon and Teal gather on the water. In summer, receding pools leave muddy feeding areas for birds including Green Sandpiper. A walk here can therefore offer a different experience on a return visit, with water levels changing the useful views. Enter from the published Syston Road approach, keep to the public routes and leave room for grazing livestock. Choose a comfortable watching position before scanning the pool margins slowly.
