Cumbernauld Road, northeast Glasgow
Hogganfield Loch is an established urban waterbird site, with a shallow loch, wooded island and adjoining marshy ponds within the local nature reserve. The RSPB Glasgow group names Great Crested Grebe, Goldeneye and Goosander, with Whooper Swan a winter attraction. A lochside path gives repeated viewing opportunities without entering the reedbeds or island. Begin from Cumbernauld Road and use the public path network. The Seven Lochs partnership identifies this as Glasgow’s principal wetland birdwatching site and provides transport information and nearby visitor facilities.
