Cocksburn Reservoir is a recognised local nature conservation site on the western edge of the Ochil Hills, with open water, marshy grassland and patches of ancient woodland. Stirling Council names Meadow Pipit, Reed Bunting and Grey Wagtail in its exact-site statement and confirms that a core path runs through the site. The reservoir provides the focus for this watching walk, with the surrounding hills forming its upland setting. Scottish Water includes Cocksburn in its ranger partnership, reflecting the public use of this working water-supply landscape.
