Ceredigion birdwatching spans Cors Caron’s raised bog, the Dyfi Estuary at Ynyslas and Ynys-hir, and the forest and lake at Bwlch Nant yr Arian. Cors Caron combines peat bog, fen, reedbed, wet grassland and river floodplain, with breeding waders and songbirds in spring and raptors and wildfowl in autumn and winter. Ynyslas offers a different mixture of tidal mudflats, sandbanks, saltmarsh and dunes, with autumn migrant waders and winter birds shaping the estuary visit. Ynys-hir adds oak woodland beside wet grassland and estuary, linking spring woodland watching with the colder-month wetland scene. Bwlch Nant yr Arian is the forest-and-lake contrast, with Red Kite watching alongside birds including Little Grebe and Tufted Duck. Its upland ridges give it a different walking setting from a bog-boardwalk or estuary session. These four destinations provide clear choices within the county: a raised-bog landscape, a tidal shore, an oakwood-and-marsh reserve and a forest visit. Each has its own arrival and public watching route.
