Moor Lane, Thorpe-on-the-Hill, near Lincoln · LN6 9BW
Whisby Nature Park offers lake watching and a choice of short walks near Lincoln, on land formerly quarried for sand and gravel. Reed edges, willow scrub and pockets of woodland add variety to the water views. Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust names Garden Warbler, Reed Warbler and Starling among its birds. Its seasonal guide describes warblers in spring and summer, with winter wildfowl and occasional Starling gatherings. Choose a trail that suits the time you have, rather than trying to cover the whole park. Visitor facilities at the Natural World Centre make this a practical stop for a mixed group.
