Ufton Fields lane, near Southam
Ufton Fields offers a short birdwatching circuit through a former limestone quarry, where ridges and flooded furrows now support pools, marsh and woodland. The Trust’s site-specific trail names Little Grebe, Teal and Green Woodpecker, alongside other birds associated with the different habitats. Start at the council’s reserve car park and follow the waymarked route, pausing at the pool views rather than entering the wet margins. Warwickshire County Council resumed management in 2023, and its current site information should guide the visit. The older Trust trail remains useful bird evidence, with current facility availability checked on site.
