Church Lane, near Martlesham · IP12 4PQ
Martlesham Wilds is a changing landscape beside the Deben, where former farmland meets saltmarsh and woodland. Suffolk Wildlife Trust names Curlew, Shelduck and Lapwing feeding on the marsh and saltings and recommends low tide for a visit. Use the public footpaths and the current diversion signs: the operator warns that a broken sluice causes high-tide flooding on part of the Coastal Path. Choose a route that remains safely open rather than trying to force a coastal circuit. Watching the recovering habitats can be worthwhile without covering every path.
