Highfields Caldecote approach, west of Cambridge
Hardwick Wood offers a woodland walk west of Cambridge, with old boundary banks and coppiced areas supporting songbirds. The Wildlife Trust names Willow Warbler, Marsh Tit and Blackcap in its account of the growing coppice. Flowers and insects add interest in the openings created by management. The operator recommends spring and autumn for visiting. Approach on the signed bridleway from Highfields Caldecote and remain on the permitted paths; the wood is not described as an accessible surfaced circuit.
