Grantchester Road, Trumpington

Byron’s Pool provides a wooded riverside circuit beside the Cam in Trumpington. The council names Kingfisher, Little Grebe and Grey Wagtail along the river, with other birds in the woodland. Small ponds, open glades and a meadow near the car park add variety. The route follows a densely wooded riverbank rather than open wetland. Its small free car park has a height barrier, so check vehicle height before choosing this arrival, particularly when travelling in a van or carrying roof-mounted equipment.
