Frays River and Grand Union Canal near Uxbridge, Hillingdon
Frays Farm Meadows offers a wet-grassland birdwatching walk in the Colne Valley near Uxbridge. The Trust names Snipe, Lapwing, Teal and Shoveler, with the river and meadow ditches providing a contrasting setting to London’s reservoir visits. Use the canal-side approach and enter through the documented stile route rather than trying to reach the meadows from the A40. The ground can be difficult when wet, so keep the outing to the established public approach and leave enough time for the return beside the canal.
