Divis Road, Hannahstown, near Belfast

Divis and the Black Mountain offers upland birdwatching above Belfast across heath, bog and grassland. The National Trust's Ridge Trail guide names Red Grouse, Skylark and Snipe among the area's birds. Established trails provide different walking lengths, so a birding stop need not commit to the full ridge circuit. The open hills are exposed and some routes have rough stone or gravel surfaces. Current visitor information says the upper car park is closed during project works, with limited toilet provision. Plan around the lower car park and current signs rather than relying on older trail-facility descriptions.
