Bures Road, Great Cornard, near Sudbury · CO10 0NL

Cornard Mere offers a limited-access wetland walk near Sudbury, with open water, fen and willow scrub close to the River Stour. Suffolk Wildlife Trust names Reed Bunting, Sedge Warbler and Reed Warbler in the reed vegetation. Its advertised best visiting period is May to August. Access is along the public footpath on the southern boundary rather than unrestricted entry across the wetland. Listen from that permitted route and allow enough time for birds to appear naturally. A small site can reward a patient visit without covering a long distance, but muddy paths may change how comfortable the walk feels.
