The Downs, Clifton and Durdham
Clifton and Durdham Downs offer a broad public green space on the Bristol side of the Avon Gorge. The conservation partnership names breeding Green Woodpecker and winter Redwing and Fieldfare among the birds using the area. Choose a public park walk that leaves time to scan grassland and listen along the trees. The setting is shared with walkers, sport and other recreation, so use a comfortable stopping place that keeps routes clear. Follow established paths and remain well back from cliff edges. The map marks the partnership’s broad visitor-map centre, not a particular bird location or cliff approach.
