Near Bampton
Chimney Meadows is a Thames floodplain reserve where restored grazing marsh and old meadows provide space for wetland birds. BBOWT names Wigeon, Teal and Lapwing among its winter highlights, with seasonal flooding changing the feeding habitat. Public paths and two hides provide ways to watch without entering the more restricted wildlife areas. Ten Foot Bridge is closed until further notice, affecting approaches from Duxford and Buckland. Use the designated reserve car park and current route map rather than planning a crossing of that bridge. Duxford Old River is included here as part of the same reserve.
