Dromore, near Gatehouse of Fleet

Cairnsmore of Fleet offers different levels of exploration from its Dromore arrival. A lower farm-and-woodland visit gives a quieter introduction than the longer upland routes, with views into a broad moorland landscape. NatureScot names returning Swifts and Cuckoo in spring and Stonechat in summer. Choose the public trail that fits the ground and time you have, then pause to listen before moving farther. The information centre and established arrival make it possible to plan a defined reserve session. A mountain extension requires its own preparation and should remain optional rather than determining every visitor's day.
