Church Lane, Iken, near Snape · IP12 2EN

Alde Mudflats is watched from the shoreside path between Iken Cliff and Iken Church, rather than by entering the protected mud and saltmarsh. Suffolk Wildlife Trust names Avocet and wintering Curlew and Black-tailed Godwit here. This is a place for scanning a changing estuary view, with binoculars useful even on a short visit. The operator’s public-path arrangement keeps people outside the sanctuary itself. Make the permitted footpath the whole watching route and leave tidal mud, creeks and grazing areas undisturbed.
