Sand Lane, near North Cliffe · YO43 4XE
North Cliffe Wood offers a woodland change of scene from the East Riding wetlands. Its birch, oak and old hazel areas sit alongside small patches of heath and reedbed. Yorkshire Wildlife Trust highlights Green Woodpecker, Marsh Tit and Nuthatch in winter, when this is a useful place to concentrate on woodland calls and feeding flocks. A roughly three-kilometre grass-path circuit explores the reserve, although roots and wet ground make it a walk requiring care. The small roadside arrival and absence of visitor facilities suit a self-contained woodland visit rather than a serviced attraction.
