Public top car park on the B4501, north of Llyn Brenig
Gors Maen Llwyd is a large upland reserve beside the northern end of Llyn Brenig, where heather moor, blanket bog and wet ground create a distinct birding landscape. The Trust describes spring calls of Curlew, Skylark and Cuckoo across the moor. Begin at the public top car park and use the established paths, keeping out of ground-nesting areas rather than seeking closer approaches. The exposed reserve can feel remote despite its road access, and mobile reception is patchy. This entry covers the managed moorland reserve as one place, with no separate counts for its hides or reservoir viewpoints.

Getting there: The map pin marks the public top car park, not a lek or nesting location. Both documented car parks are reached from the B4501. Check the weather before choosing the exposed moorland route; suitable footwear is needed and mobile signal cannot be relied upon.
