Kilwinning (1 mi / 1.6 km)

Corsehillmuir Wood is a small woodland beside Kilwinning, where mature birch, ash and willow shelter a mossy and fern-rich ground layer. Yellowhammer, Wren and Willow Warbler appear in the Trust’s reserve wildlife selection. A footpath around the wood provides the public way to explore the canopy and edges without entering the undergrowth. This is a local woodland stop whose appeal lies in time spent listening as well as searching for movement. Rain can make the unsurfaced sections muddy, and spring birdwatching should allow extra space around cover used by breeding wildlife.
