Chettisham village approach, north of Ely

Chettisham Meadow is a traditional hay meadow north of Ely, with old ridge-and-furrow earthworks and dense hedges. The Wildlife Trust names Bullfinch, Willow Warbler and Blackcap among its birds. Spring orchids and cowslips are a particular attraction, while the meadow is managed by hay cutting and sheep grazing. Reaching it requires a village approach and a walk along rough tracks, including a crossing of the busy A10. Consider that crossing before choosing this as a short stop with a group.
