Gronant · CH8 9JN
Big Pool Wood offers a small reedbed and wet-woodland visit near Gronant, with public hides and a circular path. The Trust names Reed Warbler in spring and Mallard, Coot and Moorhen in summer. Sit quietly at a hide to follow birds moving between open water and reeds, then use the boardwalk for a different view of the woodland. The entrance passes through a working riding-stables environment, where wet-weather mud can affect the approach. The public route and hide access deserve attention before choosing this as a stop for a mixed-mobility group.
